Total Grazing Masterclass – Event Report /Hungarian Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (ÖMKi)/
From April 27–29, 2026, the Total Grazing Masterclass was held in Gosztola, Hungary, organized by the DEDES Private Agroecology Project and led by Jaime Elizondo.
Around twenty participants attended the three-day training, the majority of whom were practicing livestock farmers.
The program combined classroom presentations with hands-on field exercises, placing a strong emphasis on practical application and the exchange of real-world farming experience.
The central focus of the training was the Total Grazing system, which is based on the relationship between plants, soil, and animals to improve pasture productivity, livestock performance, and long-term soil health.
Throughout the three days, participants explored key topics including complete regrowth, the leaf-to-stem ratio, the role of mycorrhizal fungi, the importance of the fungi-to-bacteria ratio, the grazing window, and the relationship between biodiversity and soil organic matter.

Total Grazing Masterclass - beszámoló /ÖMKI Ökológiai Mezőgazdasági Kutatóintézet/
2026. április 27-29. között Gosztolán, a Dedes Private Agroecology Project szervezésében került megrendezésre a Total Grazing Masterclass képzés, amelyet Jaime Elizondo tartott.
A háromnapos tréningen mintegy húsz résztvevő vett részt, többségük gyakorló állattartó gazdálkodó volt.
A program elméleti előadásokból és terepi gyakorlatokból állt, a hangsúly pedig végig a gyakorlati alkalmazhatóságon és a gazdálkodói tapasztalatokon volt.
A tréning központi témája a Total Grazing rendszer volt, amely a növény-talaj-állat kapcsolat összefüggéseire építve próbálja javítani a gyep produktivitását, az állatok teljesítményét és a talaj hosszú távú állapotát.
A három nap során számos olyan téma került elő, mint a „teljes regenerálódás” (complete regrowth), a levél-szár arány (leaf-to-stem ratio), a mikorrhiza gombák szerepe, a gomba/baktérium arány jelentősége, a legeltetés időzítése (grazing window), valamint a biodiverzitás és a talaj szervesanyag-tartalmának kapcsolata.
